28:45

I ran a 5K this past weekend in 28 minutes and 45 seconds. Not bad considering I usually run about a 10 minute mile. It was pouring down rain and the course seemed to be all up hill. The first two miles were fine but I really struggled with the last mile. I signed up to run a few more 5k's this month. I'll keep you posted.

Crystal Signed Up too!

Good news! My friend Crystal signed up to run the ING half marathon with me! We have ran many 5k's and 10k's together, we even (unexpectedly) ran a 10k and 5k back to back. This will be our longest run yet...who knows after we tackle this one a full marathon might be next. We'll have to get through this one first though.

Tredmill.

I hate running on the treadmill. It's boring. It gets me no where. I avoid it at all cost. But today it was pouring down rain so 30 minutes on the treadmill it was. It wasn't so bad today.

159 days till the race.

My first half marathon.

I just signed up to run in my first half marathon (13.1 miles). The race takes place on March 21, 2010. The past six months have been a real struggle for me and running has become my release. It's where I can just get it all out. Even though I really have to motive myself sometimes to just go out and run or even find the time to just go out and run, I'm so happy and satisfied I did the minute my ipod starts and my foot hits the ground.

I'm off...

not only to get a great physical workout, but to get all the "stuff" out of my head. It's like I'm sweating it all out. When I run it's my time. I'm in my own world and in that world I decide what I think about. I love that feeling. So I signed up for the race as a celebration of getting all the "stuff" out. It also marks my first year of living in Atlanta, GA.

I am so excited and ready to face the challenges, feel the comfort, and embrace this journey...and I'll be documenting it all in this blog.
