Not bad considering I usually run about a 10 minute mile. It was pouring down rain and the course seemed to be all up hill. The first two miles were fine but I really struggled with the last mile. I signed up to run a few more 5k's this month. I'll keep you posted.cdefrankhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11525736268167326146noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4875552777486325952.post-91319467444780028492009-10-23T11:18:00.001-07:002009-10-23T11:24:04.870-07:00Crystal Signed Up too!Good news! We have ran many 5<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">k's</span> and 10<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">k's</span> together, we even (<span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">unexpectedly</span>) ran a 10k and 5k back to back. This will be our longest run yet...who knows after we tackle this one a full marathon might be next. We'll have to get through this one first though.cdefrankhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11525736268167326146noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4875552777486325952.post-6045918301779956932009-10-12T20:27:00.001-07:002009-10-12T20:33:16.715-07:00Tredmill.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9PI1ZLFy6bhiDVQFtHBHN3G94onOuYjW2Y6LCHuP16L7l7__f-FIf8F6VF_idsFz6GCD7eWjMFXYoC5dRGmHtYn3RVYceHVzBDRXcrjfBOZOA6sKGZP9f1Vd_WihBKy7Yc-37EETl_g7K/s1600-h/5.0AT_Hero_LG+tredmill.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9PI1ZLFy6bhiDVQFtHBHN3G94onOuYjW2Y6LCHuP16L7l7__f-FIf8F6VF_idsFz6GCD7eWjMFXYoC5dRGmHtYn3RVYceHVzBDRXcrjfBOZOA6sKGZP9f1Vd_WihBKy7Yc-37EETl_g7K/s320/5.0AT_Hero_LG+tredmill.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391921247084593538" border="0" /></a><br />I hate running on the treadmill. It's boring. It gets me no where. I avoid it at all cost. But today it was pouring down rain so 30 minutes on the treadmill it was. It wasn't so bad today.<br /><br />159 days till the race.cdefrankhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11525736268167326146noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4875552777486325952.post-7221974968113935042009-10-11T20:49:00.000-07:002009-10-11T21:36:56.627-07:00My first half marathon.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9KsBcCy0lulwZHmdtYBmkpQkfe-peZbFEPpO1u3SB3VU4vkAeEm3sB41JgLDmIk_veHkztGsyugdttG9fyrXjjzZuu2ZwKhTrkaBkfUZ_YKeZuVb3u7boihrE6xWZIJCj4JcRFMQNifWr/s1600-h/Picture+13.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9KsBcCy0lulwZHmdtYBmkpQkfe-peZbFEPpO1u3SB3VU4vkAeEm3sB41JgLDmIk_veHkztGsyugdttG9fyrXjjzZuu2ZwKhTrkaBkfUZ_YKeZuVb3u7boihrE6xWZIJCj4JcRFMQNifWr/s320/Picture+13.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391555673350892802" border="0" /></a><br />I just signed up to run in my first half marathon (13.1 miles). The race takes place on March 21, 2010. The past six months have been a real struggle for me and running has become my release. It's where I can just get it all out. Even though I really have to motive myself sometimes to just go out and run or even find the time to just go out and run, I'm so happy and satisfied I did the minute my ipod starts and my foot hits the ground.<br /><br />I'm off...<br /><br />not only to get a great physical workout, but to get all the "stuff" out of my head. It's like I'm sweating it all out. When I run it's my time. I'm in my own world and in that world I decide what I think about. I love that feeling. So I signed up for the race as a celebration of getting all the "stuff" out. It also marks my first year of living in Atlanta, GA.<br /><br />I am so excited and ready to face the challenges, feel the comfort, and embrace this journey...and I'll be documenting it all in this blog.cdefrankhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11525736268167326146noreply@blogger.com1
